The Case for Gas in the Energy Union

Please find here the photos and presentations from this year's Member States' Gas Forum.

As the Energy Union celebrates its first anniversary and the European Commission prepares to deliver on its recently released energy security package, the 5th Member States’ Gas Forum will stimulate discussion on The Case for Gas in the Energy Union: the vital role that gas can play in a flexible, innovative and sustainable Energy Union, with a focus on the importance of LNG and storage.

Mr. Mark Dierikx, Director General for Energy, Telecommunications and Competition at the Ministry of Economic Affairs in the Netherlands, will open the Forum, sharing the Presidency’s views on the cooperation among Member States and the role of gas in Europe. Two panel discussions will follow.

Mr. László Varró, newly appointed Chief Economist at the International Energy Agency, will make concluding remarks.

The Member States’ Gas Forum is GasNaturally’s annual landmark event dedicated to Member States. Each year, it attracts over 100 participants from EU institutions, industry, think tanks and NGOs to discuss EU energy priorities with Member States representatives.
